dumping a corpse in a secluded swamp, a serial killer

6. A War Of The
Worlds - Live - by K. Anderson Yancy - A news
crew documents an alien invasion as it occurs against
present day Earth and our defenses against it. This version
differs from the one in 13 Tales of SonicHorror
- Volume 1 in that it has the music track
removed and is divided into 16 segments giving it a LIVE -
"You Are Here News Broadcast Feel".
7. The Hell-Bound
Train - by Unknown - A drunken cowboy passes
out on a barroom floor and to his horror finds he’s on the
Hell-Bound Train.
8. The
Hound - by Howard Phillips Lovecraft ( H. P.
Lovecraft ) - Two men, only able to find pleasure in the
extreme, turn to defiling crypts and keeping the souvenirs
of their nocturnal expeditions, creating a morbid museum in
the basement of their secluded home, a private exhibition,
consisting of headstones; preserved bodies; skulls of
adults and children; and several heads in different phases
of decomposition; frightful paintings; and a locked
portfolio, bound in tanned human skin.
When in Holland they break into
a mighty sepulcher and steal from a 500 years dead grave
robber, a potent amulet mentioned in the dreaded and
forbidden “Necronomicon” of the mad Arab Abdul Alhazred”,
the dead grave robber comes back for it and more.
Please Note: For The Lovecraft
Lovers: “The Hound” contains the first mention of one of
Lovecraft's most famous literary creations - the dreaded
and forbidden “Necronomicon” of the mad Arab Abdul
Alhazred. Lovecraft mentioned its author a year earlier, in
"The Nameless City", but here for the first time named the
book. Referring to an amulet found on a grave-robbing
expedition.
9. The Masque Of
The Red Death - by Edgar Allan Poe - When a
prince deserts his loyal subjects amidst a ravaging plague
to live in secluded opulence with a thousand of his loyal
followers, death incarnate comes looking for him.
10. The
Murderer - by O. Henry - A murderer’s fears
haunt him amidst the day light hours . . . but at
night.
11. The Open
Window - by Saki ( Hector Hugh Munro ) --
Unknowingly, a man arrives on the anniversary of the “Great
Tragedy” that led to his host having her large French
window wide open on to the lawn on an October afternoon in
the vain hope that her husband and brothers, whom he learns
have been dead three years, will return through it, and to
his horror, the man shares in the terrors of the day.
12. The Oval
Portrait - by Edgar Allan Poe - To his shock
a man discovers the painting of a woman is much, much more
than life-like.
13. The Fall Of The
House Of Usher - by Edgar Allan Poe -- During
a visit to her dying friend, a woman discovers to her
horror that his family and his home are one.
